Sale 3 - Lot 1688
1946 MORRIS 10/ 4 Series M saloon 1140cc petrol CAR
Reg. No. BCT 337
Car No. SM/ TN 40733
Engine No. 42811
Offered from 14 years of ownership, a well-loved example of the 4-cylinder Morris Ten. This particular example is thought to have had some period domestic military use, possibly in the Royal Corps of Signals as the vendor recounts meeting an ex-serviceman who had worked on Austin 10s that had been 'snooping' for illegal radio use. There is some evidence of front-mounted equipment on the wings.
Having been used for many re-enactment days and displays over the years, the vendor has kept the car in good fettle and in regular use. Unfortunately, he can no longer use it as intended and it's therefore guided very sensibly. The vendor reports recent work to the brakes although the car won't run due to a faulty voltage regulator. The interior has patinated beautifully over the years and with a light amount of 'spannering' this Morris should be back on the road. Offered with original grease guns and oil bottles in place.
Offered with a workshop manual and host of paperwork.
Estimate: £3, 000 - £5, 000
