Description

In 1973, while rivals pursued four-cylinder performance, Yamaha introduced the TX750, its first 750cc model: a parallel twin featuring the innovative “Omni-Phase Balancer.” Yamaha sought to combine four-cylinder smoothness with the characterful pulse of a twin, in a slim chassis true to its handling-focused philosophy.

After continuous refinement—including a larger oil cooler and major lubrication improvements—Yamaha finally achieved its ideal of a quiet, fast, refined large-capacity twin in 1975. Ironically, that same year became the model’s last.

This example is one of those rare final-year Japanese domestic models, representing the completed form of the TX750. Carefully stored indoors for many years, it remains highly original throughout.

A pure expression of Yamaha’s ambition, this TX750 embodies the determination of engineers who believed in the twin-cylinder concept in an age dominated by fours. Its revival brings back an important chapter of Japanese motorcycle history.
