Description

In November 1976, Suzuki, which had mainly focused on two-stroke models and small cars, released the "GS750," its first full-fledged four-stroke engine model since 1955. The newly developed DOHC four-cylinder engine boasted performance almost on par with its biggest rival, the Kawasaki Z750, while keeping the vehicle weight down to a light 223kg. Its overwhelming controllability and excellent overall balance quickly earned it high praise around the world. In 1978, coinciding with the introduction of the higher-end GS1000, the GS750 underwent further refinements, including the addition of double disc front brakes, strengthened suspension, and modified carburetor settings, and production continued until 1980.

The particular unit being offered for sale has a history of being exported to Germany as a new vehicle and first registered in 1979, according to documents kept by the current owner. While the exterior, such as the tank and side covers, maintains the original silhouette of the GS750, what particularly catches the eye is its front mask. The bike is fitted with a Rickman-Henke front cowl, a symbol of the classic European cafe racer style, and proudly sits a plate stamped with the serial number "Rickman-Henke MK II / III / V" above the headlight, hidden inside the screen when riding. Along
with the installation of this elegant cowl, the cockpit has been fitted with clip-on handlebars, and a rearset kit from Swedish company Raask has been installed for the rider's feet. This modification is a classic example of the custom modifications that were popular among European enthusiasts at the time. On the other hand, the exhaust system has been deliberately kept as the original GS750 muffler.

Currently, the bike is not registered in Japan, and various parts will need to be serviced before it can be put back on the road, but the engine has already been confirmed to start.
