Exterior / Body:
The example presented here is a 304 Cabriolet from August 1970 in its period colour "Alaska White 1304".
It is in pristine display condition with a uniform colour and excellent gloss.
After a professional polish with the orbital machine by our workshop, a few scattered scratches were noted across the car, as well as minor touch-ins on the leading edge of the driver’s door.
Original bumpers are in good condition. The front bumper has a few fine scratches.
This car is equipped with a FIAMM horn.
The alpaca-colour black hood is in excellent condition (Invoice: €1, 104).
The rear mica in PVC shows a few micro-scratches that do not affect rear visibility.
Hood fitting is easy but its seal is only average at the front edges.
The 14’’ steel wheels in "Grey" are in good condition.
BRIDGESTONE tyres show 10% wear at front and rear.
This example also features its original spare wheel, jack and crank handle.
Among the notable exterior features and options include FIAMM horn and chrome mirrors.
Interior:
The interior retains its original layout and is in very good display condition.
The black faux leather upholstery was replaced in 2020 (Invoice: €728) and is in excellent condition.
The lower trim on the driver's seat is cracked.
The door trims in black faux leather are in good condition.
The dashboard and its faux leather dash cap are in good condition with no colour fading.
The JAEGER instrument cluster and the original JAEGER clock are fully functional.
The original bakélite steering wheel shows patina from use.
The bakélite gear knob is in good condition.
PHILIPS radio is functional.
The black carpets are in perfect condition.
Notable interior features include the JAEGER clock and the recent upholstery.
Chassis:
Lift-on-pont indicates a sound shell with no accident history or visible structural corrosion.
The fundamentals – longitudinals, sills, boot floor and wheel arches – are in good order.
As a general rule we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond what is visually satisfactory and road-test validated.
During the dynamic test there were no abnormal rattles from the body or suspension components (ball joints, bushings, etc.).
Braking is balanced, stable and strong, with no vibrations or unusual noises.
Front discs show 30% wear and pads 40% wear.
The rear drums are fully functional with no signs of seepage.
A technical inspection will confirm overall reliability.
Engine / Transmission:
Mechanicals operate flawlessly.
Compression tests and road test by our workshop confirm a healthy 4-cylinder engine.
Starting is easy, with no smoke or unusual noises and idle is stable, as shown in the 360° video with engine running at the start of the slideshow.
At speed the engine pulls smoothly without hiccups.
The 4-speed gearbox engages gears easily, with no issues in any synchro gears.
Clutch bite is good.
As is common with these models, engine-to-transmission seals are average.
