The 1977 Suzuki GT500 is one of the last great street-going Japanese two-stroke motorcycles before emissions regulations and the rise of four-strokes changed the industry. It’s a machine with a surprisingly deep history because the GT500 was really the final evolution of Suzuki’s famous T500 “Titan,” a bike that had been around since the late 1960s
This example has been subject to a ground-up rebuild by our vendor, a retired motorcycle mechanic, with a spend on parts and materials of over £8, 000
The bike has had "everything done" including a full engine re-build with new crank, rods, seals, pistons, rings and a re-bore. It benefits from a new gearbox and the frame and all parts have been repainted. In addition, new rims from Japan with new spokes and tyres have been sourced, the tank has been painted, and new fork stanchions, seals and seat along with new mirrors and indicators have been fitted
