Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at Kempton Park 2026 on Saturday the 18th of July, Kempton Park Racecourse, TW16 5AE.
The Yamaha RD400 evolved from the earlier RD350, gaining more capacity, more torque, and improved equipment
Produced from 1976 to 1979, it was the final development of Yamaha’s air-cooled RD line before the arrival of the water-cooled RD350LC/ RZ generation
Many enthusiasts consider the RD400 one of the purest expressions of the classic Japanese two-stroke: simple, lightweight, mechanically raw, and immensely entertaining delivering performance far beyond what its modest size suggested
This, matching numbers, machine is a UK bike from new, registered on 09/ 08/ 1977, and is an older restoration, presenting well in Kenny Roberts Speed Block livery
Owned by our vendor for some six years, he has decided to reduce his collection of two-strokes and describes this bike as running and riding well
A good opportunity to purchase a smart RD400, where you can enjoy the smell of hot two-stroke oil and hear the engine crackle on the overrun
Supplied with a current V5C and correctly classed as Historic
