The Matchless G80 was a staple in the Matchless range from 1946 to 1966
This example is a G80CS the 'C' stood for competition and the 'S' for suspension i. e. not ridgid frame
Powered by a 498cc single-cylinder pushrod, two-valve motor producing 28bhp
Aimed at the expanding USA market, eager for off-road style bikes at the time
This, correct numbers older restoration, example is presented in good overall condition, engine turns with good compression
Still fitted with its Lucas competition magneto
Part of a deceased estate and stored for last few years, will require some recommissioning before use
Complete with a large history file containing, dating letters, old V5s, photos of restoration, numerous receipts and old handbook
