Description
Unique 7, 925 mile from new, 1979 Daimler Sovereign.
Series III Daimler Sovereigns were produced in far smaller numbers than equivalent Jaguar XJ6s. While exact production figures by model year are difficult to establish, surviving original cars, particularly low-mileage, unrestored examples are becoming increasingly scarce.
Here we have an incredible time warp example with the current owner only the second from new, with original service and handbooks. With original red exterior paintwork, and matching original red leather interior in virtually as new condition.
Recently recommissioned by M&C Wilkinson Ltd, with works including full engine overhaul, front and rear suspension rebuilds with all components refinished in Cerakote. All new dampers with new Dunlop SP sport tyres, with then full recent MOT to complete ready for use, or to be part of a collection.
The Daimler Sovereign was the luxury counterpart to the Jaguar XJ6. Mechanically they were almost identical, but the Daimler received, more extensive walnut veneer, higher-grade leather, fluted radiator grille and unique badging.
The 4. 2-litre XK straight-six is widely regarded as the most desirable engine in the Series III range, producing around 205 bhp with effortless torque and exceptional refinement.
