A Morgan 3 Wheeler defies easy categorisation. It's not a motorcycle, not a traditional sports car and certainly not a classic – yet it combines elements of all three into a completely unique driving experience. Low-slung, entirely open and with the imposing twin-cylinder engine up front, every journey feels far more intense than in any modern sports car.
This example was delivered new by us in 2019 and now returns directly from its first owner. We therefore know its complete history. It's a left-hand drive 110th Anniversary Edition, released to commemorate Morgan's 110th birthday.
The specification is particularly stylish: a stunning matt silver metallic finish is paired with a warm brown leather interior featuring refined quilted stitching. A combination strongly reminiscent of the coveted limited-edition Superdry and perfectly aligned with the adventurous, almost aviation-inspired character of the 3 Wheeler. The supplied black tonneau cover protects the interior and rounds off the visual package beautifully.
Up front sits the air-cooled 2. 0-litre S&S V-twin, coupled to a manual five-speed gearbox. With a dry weight of just 525 kilograms, a 3 Wheeler needs no extreme speeds to feel spectacular. Every mechanical pulse, corner and change in road surface becomes part of the experience. A drive along a quiet country lane quickly becomes a small event – and therein lies its charm. The original 3 Wheeler generation was produced by Morgan from 2011 to 2021 and became one of the most characterful models in the marque's modern history.
Thanks to its European approval, this Morgan can be easily registered in various European countries. It will typically be registered as a motorcycle or three-wheeled motor vehicle, which usually results in low registration and usage costs and, depending on the country and usage, can also be fiscally advantageous.
This is not a vehicle one buys merely to look at. It's a reason to take a detour on a sunny morning, seek out minor roads and experience something together that would be impossible to match in a conventional car. At the same time, thanks to its distinctive specification, known provenance and 110th Anniversary credentials, it's a unique addition to any collection.
