WHAT MAKES THE Z4 M SO SPECIAL?
The Z4 M took the basic Z4 Coupé formula and handed it over to BMW’s M division.
Underneath its long bonnet sits the legendary 3, 246cc S54 straight-six, closely related to the engine found in the E46 M3. It produces its power without turbochargers, delivering the sort of throttle response, induction noise and high-revving character that modern performance cars struggle to replicate.
The fixed-roof Coupé body is exceptionally stiff, while BMW also equipped the Z4 M with conventional hydraulic power steering rather than the electrically assisted system used in the regular Z4. The result is a much more direct and connected driving experience.
