The Atelier des 1000 is delighted to offer for sale this 1967 Land Rover 109 Series 2 in the rare 9-seater configuration. It sports the iconic Lime Green finish, with Limestone alloy wheels and roof, and Elephant Grey upholstery exactly as it left the factory.
Introduced in the late 1950s, the Land Rover 109 was designed to meet the needs of professionals, government agencies and long-distance travellers. It retains the principles that built Land Rover's worldwide reputation: a separate chassis, aluminium bodywork and remarkable off-road capability.
The example we are offering has undergone a comprehensive restoration some years ago whilst managing to preserve its authenticity.
Mechanically, the engine runs smoothly and starts easily without any unusual noises or smoke.
A service will be carried out prior to sale to ensure the new owner receives a turnkey vehicle.
The braking system is effective and perfectly balanced, as are the suspension components.
The vehicle is equipped with front locking hubs, which reduces mechanical stress when running in 4x2 mode. The freshly repainted alloy wheels are shod with tyres in excellent condition.
The chassis is in excellent condition and an underside inspection reveals particularly sound substrates.
The bodywork is in fine condition, with the side panels showing no notable deformation and the paintwork retaining its lustre.
The galvanised components have also been treated to restore their original shine.
It features a Safari double-skin roof allowing natural ventilation of the cabin with additional fresh air whilst preventing excessive heat from solar radiation.
The interior breathes 1960s charm. The "elephant skin" seats are in good condition with no tears or damage, displaying an overall patina that gives the vehicle considerable character.
The 9-seater configuration is a genuine practical asset and adds to the appeal of this example.
The instrumentation is fully functional, as is all the lighting.
