The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Type 14 combined the Beetle’s robust technical underpinnings with an elegant body designed by the Ghia studio and manufactured by Karmann in Osnabrück. The result was not a classic sports car, but a refined touring coupé with a low silhouette, a distinctive character and a level of craftsmanship that set it apart from Volkswagen’s standard production range. This 1970 model is fitted with an air-cooled flat-four engine with a displacement of 1, 493 cm³ and is fully mechanically functional. The coupé’s bodywork catches the eye with its elegant combination of red paintwork and a white roof, whilst the interior has been preserved in its original and generally well-maintained condition.
