Description
There are supercars, and then there are cars that mark the beginning of an entirely new chapter in automotive history.
The McLaren MP4-12C is undoubtedly one of the latter.
Representing the rebirth of McLaren as a dedicated road-car manufacturer, the MP4-12C was the first production model of the modern McLaren Automotive era. Unveiled in 2009 and entering production in 2011, it brought decades of championship-winning Formula 1 knowledge directly to the road.
This was no conventional supercar. It was a statement of engineering intent from one of the most celebrated names in motorsport.
At its centre sits the remarkable Carbon MonoCell chassis, an exceptionally rigid and lightweight carbon-fibre structure developed using expertise gained through Formula 1.
This pioneering construction helped establish the technological foundations for the generation of McLaren supercars that followed.
The MP4-12C was not simply another addition to the supercar market. It was the car that launched McLaren’s modern road-car revolution.
This exceptional example has covered just 11, 400 miles from new and has been meticulously maintained by a handful of careful owners.
