The GT3 Touring exists because the 911 R sold out too quickly. That car, manual and without a wing, was limited to 991 units and disappeared straight into the hands of speculators. Porsche answered with the Touring package: the same recipe, without the limited run and at no extra cost.
Mechanically, for the 991. 2 generation there is no difference at all from a standard GT3. The same 4. 0 litre naturally aspirated flat six with 500 ps (510 ps in the later 992) and a 9, 000 rpm redline. The fixed wing makes way for an automatically deploying spoiler, the Alcantara for leather, and the Clubsport equipment with roll cage is dropped.
Fun fact: on the 991. 2 the Touring package came exclusively with the manual gearbox. Porsche did not offer PDK with it at all. That option only arrived with the 992, which makes this the only generation of Touring that exists solely as a manual.
