Description
First registered in London in 1940, probably to a doctor or someone similar in the essential services. Last taxed in 1967 and unused since then, BUT does have a V5 as well as an old green log book. The registration number is original and stays with the car. The engine and major components are the originals, and mileage is around 50, 000. The engine has been run in recent years and it is sweet and quiet. The car has been dry stored in a barn for 44 years and is ripe for restoration!
The body is extremely solid and very straight with no obvious damage; however the paintwork does have some surface corrosion but would look reasonable after a good oily ragging. Interior is finished in brown leatherette, the carpets are rotted and the headlining needs replacing.
This old Minx could be used as a rolling restoration and we doubt it would need too much work to have it up and running with an MOT..... in some ways it would be a pity to repaint it, but that is for the buyer to consider!
Location is Chailey on the A272 a few miles east of Haywards Heath, East Sussex. We apologise for the poor quality of the photo, which was taken when the car went into storage in September 1967. We cannot provide any other photos as the car is buried deep in it's barn, where there is little light and not much room to wield a camera.
We are offering this vehicle on behalf of it's elderly owner who does not have internet facilities, but is happy to answer questions and show it to potential buyers. Ideally please make contact by email and we will reply with his phone number.
