Description
1960 Karmann Ghia Convertible RHD Mot’d & Taxed
This is an original UK right hand drive convertible complete with history and even a birth certificate authenticating its originality. The car is taxed to August 2012 (free) and mot’d to April 2012. I have a file full of history and there is a case full of Karmann owner’s club magazines.
The car is structurally solid with good floors and inner wings etc. The car is in good condition for its age. However there are signs of bubbling and the use of fillers. The car really looks the part and is in my opinion in the best colour combination. The chrome is OK but is pitted but cleans up alright.
The exterior paintwork has a very good finish but there are as I’ve said areas that need attention. The interior is in reasonable condition with good carpets. The seats have some splits but are very serviceable. The hood is in reasonable condition with only one small rip, which has been patched. The rear window has been replaced but could have been better done but is waterproof and see-through.
The mechanics of the cat are good with a strong engine and gearbox. The drive is both enjoyable and comfortable. The brake pipes have all been renewed and other bits and pieces replaced.
I bought the car at the start of the summer and had great fun with her over the summer months and she never let me down and always turned heads. I did over 400 miles and she never missed a beat. My intentions were to restore her over the winter but due to changes in circumstance and lack of space, I no longer have the time. Having said this the car is presentable and can be used as she is. CD player fitted.
As the car is in Northern Ireland I’m willing to pick you up at either of the airports or seaports. I have lots of photographs and if you require any areas please just ask.
