Everyone knows the Morris Minor, as English as fish and chips and as classic as an English Country House Estate..... The Morris Minor was a wonderfully successful car, exported all around the world and produced for such a long time that even during its 23 year production run it became a classic.
The original Morris Minor was first displayed to the public over 60 years ago at the 1948 Earls Court Motor Show in London and continued in production until 1971, available as a 2 and 4 door Saloon, a Convertible, Van, pick up or even an Estate. It received four major updates during that production run, originally having a 27 bhp engine that gave a top speed of just 62 mph, finally ending its production run with a 1098cc engine producing a heady 48bhp.
The Minor believe it or not was a very innovative car when it was originally produced. Designed by the father of the Mini, Sir Alec Issigonis comprising a monocoque body shell as opposed to the outdated chassis/ body method of construction in pre war Britain, rack and pinion steering, independent front suspension and smaller more modern 14 inch wheels.
A point of interest about the design of the Morris Minor is that when you look at any Morris Minor you may notice a 4in raised strip in the centre of the bonnet, this is something that was added just before the cars went into production, because at the last minute the designers of the Minor decided the car was a bit cramped inside and widened the whole car by 4in.... that strip down the bonnet is the only visable sign, but it remained during the whole production run.
Our 1967 Series IV Convertible is finished in powder blue and is in wonderful condition, it has recently benefitted from a full restoration with a Marque Specialist and has been tastefully upgraded with comfortable leather seats from Charles Wares Morris Minor Centre, along with period headlamp eye brows, optional heater and a radio cassette player. During the restoration, our Morris Minor also received a more powerful 1275cc A series engine.
Driving a Minor these days is a lovely change from the hectic stresses of today. You cannot rush these cars, they demand a calm and relaxed driving style, but reward you with bucket fulls of classic charm and take you back to a time when the world was genuinely slower.

3) You can then either pay a deposit or the full amount for your hire, we can also advise on over night accomodation and attractions to visit.
4) In the mean time we will need proof of ID and a copy of your driving licence.
5) You’ll then receive confirmation of your hire contract.
