Description
I have to thin my collection down, so here is a sound 90 quattro
Registered 2 April 1985 in Bucks, but spent most of its life in Scotland.
Has MOT until December 2015 & is currently taxed until November 2015, although under this stupid new scheme the buyer will have to tax the vehicle.
Recorded mileage approaching 132, 000: finished in Zermatt Silver with black & grey interior.
Bodywork in good overall condition, but being nearly 30 years old has a few chips and rust spots on bonnet & bootlid and a few bits around the arches, which I have touched in.
I’ve never needed to use the diff. locks, so I don’t know if they are working.
The sun roof mechanism is a bit suspect, so I’ve not wound it back. The tilt works.
The n/ s/ f window does not work, but the others do; as does the central locking. It is also fitted with ABS that works, but I’ve only had it cut in once.
It has a nice original Blaupunkt radio/ cassette with electric aerial.
Good Year tyres are reasonable and should have 5/ 8k left in them.
Everything else, other than what I’ve highlighted works.
The outer headlamp reflectors are a bit tarnished, but still illuminate OK and were sufficient for the MOT: advises were ARB rubbers and corrosion to underside, but there certainly is nothing structural, but I guess a good coating of old engine oil or waxoyl would not go amiss.
I would keep it, but I have too many of these and other project on the go, so before it deteriorates through lack of use, I thought it best to let someone else have the pleasure of it. Has had 5 main owners including me, but V5 shows 9 previous keepers, partly due to supplying garage registering it & 3 owners during 2008.
I think it is a nice looking car that requires a few bits and pieces to make it a nice usable everyday classic. Any further questions, then do please ask.
Thanks for looking.
Just to add that it had new springs and dampers c. 8k ago; also the fuel lines that run under the car were replaced & I think cam belt was done by previous owner, also c. 8k miles ago.
