With regret I have decided to sell my VW Golf MK2 GTi 16v. I purchased the car at the beginning of this year with the intention of bringing it back up to scratch as it had not been used for 2 years and using it for the summer. In reality I already have another classic VW that needs my attention and current work commitments have not allowed me the time to work on the Golf. I have a failure sheet from when I got the car and it failed on 9 items. I have already fixed most of the problems except exhaust emissions carbon monoxide excessive and 3 areas of welding. Both sides of the inner sill/ floor area are apparently excessively corroded but it only looks like the round jacking point cups are a little frilly. The other bit is a 50p hole on the inner rear wheel arch at the end of the sill. It has Koni TA suspension and a full Magnex stainless steel exhaust. It should make a nice car but needs some tidying as you can see in the pictures. I have not driven it far but the clutch biting point is high. The interior is in very good condition and has only done 145, 000 miles with 7 previous owners. I have plenty of history with the car, stamped service book and all mots.
