Good oportunity of a rare armoured car specially built for french state security police force (CRS) and army used between 1963 and 1976, like during the french students revolt of May 1968.
To compete with Land-Rover, Renault imagined a ''Land-Rover Santana 106 style'' car much bigger to equip CRS forces and produced 440 exemplary between 1963-68 + 50 more in 1969... So less than 500 in total
After their services, they were suposed to be destroyed and in my knowledge, nowadays there is less than 5 still existing... I would say 3.
As mountain guides specialized in canyoning, in the past, during the summer season, we use it end 80's start 90's (we had at that time 6 Land Rover Santana + this Renault) to carry our groups till the canyons following gravel roads in the mountains... So few KM done (50000 total), good maintenance during those years of use and always well protected during the winters against rain/ wind... Motor, tyre and carosserie are fine even if it needs some repairs.
