Here we have for sale a smart, hardtop 2a - it is the station wagon variant and therefore benefits from a safari roof with vents, a headlining, glass sliding windows (which actually work too), alpine glass, and enough seats for the whole family.
The vehicle has been converted to the common 3. 0L V6 engine - this is a popular and well received conversion which sounds amazing, and really does catapult the vehicle into a much more useable power band - this has been coupled to a Range Rover diff upgrade, which effectively acts as a constantly engaged overdrive, providing much better ratios for longer, in gear acceleration, and relaxed cruising, thus maximising the power increase. A kenlowe fan cools things down.
As can be seen in the photos, the vehicle is well presented and has all the period features one would expect to see on a 2a. The tyres all match and have good tread profile. Period mirrors and a bonnet mounted spare all add to the charm. The paintwork is somewhat better than the majority of similar vehicles available - leading to a smoother, sprayed finish than one would normally expect to see. There's also a handy towbar and electrics for those weekend jobs!
The interior is also nicely equipped with a full compliment of seating, plus mats throughout. Other than that, it's all fairly standard and what one would expect to see.
Out on the road, the uprated engine and gear ratios really show. The exhaust note from the twin pipes is infectious and sounds amazing, and it feels far improved from the original set up. In short it's a real delight.
In summary, this is a smart 2a, with rare station wagon setup - and improved to be used in modern road environments - tax exempt motoring with a twist!
