Petrol Punk Motorcycles was formed two years ago in the North of Ireland by David Boyd. After 35 years living in London working in the music industry David relocated to Northern Ireland. Having grown up in New Zealand's south island serving his time as a motorcycle mechanic in a bike shop in Invergargill, home town of Burt Munro. The boss of the bike shop being mates with Burt, now too old to ride, who would loan his beloved Indian to the workshop manager to take part in speed trials, flying miles etc. Burt would attend and give advice at these meetings. It was a privilege for David to have met and hung out with Burt in the mid seventies. Check out the film "The God Of Speed" on Youtube.
Petrol Punk are specializing in working with Yamaha's well trusted SR500 & 400cc big singles. These machines are well known to the custom world and remain a popular canvas to work on. Kick start only, there is a knack to starting but once mastered its easy. Sourcing the best examples and stripping them of all their heavy 70's bling. Rebuilding with quality parts and replacing all service items, clutch, cables, brake's etc.
This example is a brand NEW SR400 F1 Fuel injection. Built for a local Yamaha dealer to show what can be achieved with a light cosmetic make over. Alloy guards, custom headlight and brackets, fully adjustable alloy clip on bars, custom seat, exhaust, custom tail light, indicators, gummy grips, dressed top yoke, alloy oil filler, de com leaver on cylinder head, uprated brake line. Delivery and road test miles only. This machine is based in Northern Ireland and delivery can be easily arranged.
Priced at £4500 (this is a new bike which sells for £5200 from Yamaha) The extras cost over £1000. A bargin.
