Here we have for sale a smart Series 2 in popular ragtop in rare light pastel green. The exterior is well presented - period mirrors are fitted with a bonnet mounted spare, coupled with a recent canvas and galvanised stick set. This is added to with more modern additions such as the Free Wheeling Hubs for better economy, tow bar and electrics and brand new 750 military 'chevron' tyres. These not only give fantastic off road ability, but also lengthen the gearing for better cruising, increase the ride height, and are self-cleaning. They look good too! The popular configuration of colour and soft-top make this a real head-turner, and the period looks promise to make it a good investment.
On the inside, the vehicle has a few nice additions, such as the deluxe seats and middle cubby-box with cupholders. It has a heater which is fully functioning, with two speeds to keep the cabin warm. However, other than this the interior is very standard, with Deluxe Matting fitted throughout. Although the rear is unfitted it would happily house bench seats which would allow seating for six people. The original hand-throttle survives in the cab too.
Out on the road, the additional gearing gives more practical use and the diesel engine gives lots of torque low down meaning pulling away is easy, ideal for towing. The steering is light, and the old girl trundles along as she should.
