Lot 48
A 1959 Triumph TR3A, registration number TSV 616, chassis number TS 47448-0, engine number TS4800SE, Pearl grey. The TR3A with its rugged and handsome styling featured the wider front grille to aid cooling became available in 1957/ 1958. The styling would remain with minor revisions until the new TR4 became available in 1961. This charming home market right hand drive, overdrive, chrome wire wheeled example comes direct from a deceased estate of a well known Bugatti & Bentley enthusiast. TSV 616 has obviously had a great deal of time, effort and expenditure lavished upon it in recent years. The body is presented in a subtle shade of Pearl grey with a contrasting red piped white interior, which suits the Triumph very well. Weather gear consists of black canvas hood, tonneau cover, hood cover and side screens. The accompanying history file contains an RF60 which identifies that the Triumph was originally registered XWY 616 and had a colour change to red (it is now presented in its original colour), receipts, past MOTs, DVLA correspondence, SORNs and sundry paperwork. Now requiring a service and light recommissioning due to its recent inactivity, this charming TR3A offers an economic alternative to its more expensive Jaguar and Austin Healey contemporaries. V5, V5C, MOT and tax exempt See front cover and other illustrations
Estimate £20, 000 - 22, 000
