1985 Citroen 2CV6 Special. This is a lovely example of the archetypal French car, built in France, then supplied new to Italy (the Italian paperwork comes with it).
The car was regularly driven to the UK for holidays by it's Italian owners, until a few years back an English garage put the wrong brake fluid in, causing the braking system to need a rebuild, at this point they left the car here and went home.
The car then ended up at the renowned 2CV Workshop, near Callington, Cornwall, who were impressed at how straight and original the car was, so the decided to restore it.
It had all rust cut out, metal welded in where required, including a complete new vent panel, and two complete floor pans.
The chassis is the unwelded original, (which apparently fit a lot better than the replacement galvanised ones). The car was fitted with four new wings, completely repainted to a very high standard in two pack paint. A new roof, tyres, seats, carpets, rubbers, etc, etc were fitted, the entire braking system overhauled, in fact anything that needed replacing or overhauling was done!
The result, as you can see in the pictures is one of the best 2CV's we have seen, it starts instantly hot or cold, drives exactly as it should, making people smile wherever it goes. The car will be serviced and have a new MoT before it leaves us.
Previously sold by ourselves, the new owners wanted to take it to Portugal as transport at their holiday home, but due to Portuguese import duties, it wasn't viable, but the little car behaved faultlessly on the 3000 mile round trip!
