Arguably the most sought after and highly prized of all MK1 Ford Fiesta's... A 1980 Fiesta Supersport presented in show/ concours condition and with just 28896 miles from new!
Finished in Strato Silver metallic, this potential show winning Fiesta Supersport is pretty much flawless. The car is un-welded and still wearing all of its factory fitted panels. The car was treated to a top quality bare shell repaint a couple of years ago and still looks incredible today. A new set of graphics have been fitted and the car was completely detailed at the same time. The car is just stunning and would easily compete on the show circuit. All glass is original and the rubbers are still supple and free from any cracking or deterioration. The boot floor is immaculate and the original spare wheel complete with a Pirelli P6 tyre fits within the correct 'bulged' back panel.
Internally the car is superb as a result of a complete re-trim and it looks like new. The dashboard is completely crack free and the un-damaged centre console still houses the original push button radio. All the original door cards are excellent and the original carpet remains in excellent condition.
The immaculate engine bay is home to the correct and un-modified 1. 3 L Kent Crossflow engine. The correct VIN number is clearly visible on the suspension strut and the VIN plate coding confirms that this is a genuine Supersport.
The car drives incredibly well. The automatic choke is in perfect working order and the engine fires immediately and is extremely quiet. The car soon settles to a nice, smooth idle and the correct 4 speed gearbox is lovely. The correct wheels are still shod with genuine Pirelli P6 tyres, although just due to age we would advise that these tyres are no longer roadworthy. They are however, great for the show circuit.
Genuine Fiesta Supersports are just so thin on the ground now and they are probably the most difficult and elusive of the collectable Fords to find. Of the odd ones that do come to market, the majority are on-going projects or just boxes of bits. This is a car that can be used and enjoyed and is ready for the show circuit with immediate effect.
