Lot 16
A 1966 Triumph Special/ Marlin prototype, registration number JRR 929D, maroon. This Special was one of two built as pre-production models by Paul Moorhouse, designer and producer of the successful Marlin sports car. Unlike the production cars this prototype features an aluminum tub not fibreglass. It incorporates some nice features and pre-dates the production cars by a couple of years. Previously owned for ten years by the Chairman of the Marlin Owners Club who has written a nice description in the extensive history file which accompanies the car. It is fitted with a two litre Triumph engine and features various suspension modifications. It has been the subject of a lengthy number of articles on its re-build by the previous Chairman of the Marlin Owners' Club, is of significant interest to followers of this famous marque and is sensibly priced at the pre-sale estimate. V5C, MOT to December 2017, tax exempt
