We are delighted to present for sale this smart Series 3 in a popular colour configuration. On the outside, the vehicle has many period features, such as the bonnet mounted spare, rear grab handles, recent canvas and correct Vintage Numberplates. 750 tyres make the vehicle stand tall, and these are the military 'Chevron' style tyre, which have unrivalled off-road ability and are self-cleaning. The spare is of the same profile and size, and is 'as new'. Free Wheeling Hubs are also fitted, to limit front axle usage (and hence wear) and increase fuel economy. Defender-style door mirrors are fitted for better visibility, and a more modern look. Working 12v Electrics are in place at the rear, giving an option to fit a towball at low cost to allow towing.
On the inside, the vehicle has a nice standard feel - the correct Diesel Hand-Throttle is still in place, along with a standard set of seats in the front, which look to be recent. Deluxe Matting is fitted throughout as with all vehicles, and includes a rear load mat. The rear, although unfitted, could easily house bench seats to increase carrying capacity to 7 occupants.
Out on the road, this vehicle drives as it should, complemented by the bigger tyres to lower revs at speed. It gives a pleasing period driving experience, with the larger tread giving a commanding view over the road ahead. The vehicle also has a concealed switch for the glow plugs (and as such is almost like a hidden immobiliser) and starts keenly with minimal smoke.
In summary, if you are looking for a smart tax exempt Series 3 in popular soft top configuration, then this is well worth considering.
