The Evora GTE was a race car developed by Lotus Motorsport for the global endurance GTE category that included races such as the infamous 24 hours of Le Mans. Lotus planned to build a limited number of road cars to celebrate their Evora GTE achievement at Le Mans, housing a tuned 440bhp engine, sequential gearbox and the distinctly wider bodywork found on the race car. Sadly the project was never fully completed and production was halted with only 25-30 pre-production road cars being built. It wasn’t until 2014 under new factory management that the decision was made to completely disassemble the GTE road cars that had been made and rebuild 20 of them as a limited edition run for road use.
Each of the 20 cars were taken back to a bare chassis within the companies world famous Motorsport division, and subsequently rebuilt using the stunning GTE bodywork originally issued to them. All new subframes, suspension arms, brakes and wheels were used along with new engines, cooling systems and wiring looms throughout. All 20 cars were rebuilt using the 3. 5L supercharged V6 found in the Evora S, but customers were allowed to fine tune each car to their own specification, meaning no Evora GTE is truly the same.
