Allard V8 Speedster 4-litre Flathead V8 Ford Mercury with twin Offenhauser cylinder heads
Your chance to put your stamp on this car ... - work still to do to finish
This rare Allard one of just 93 survivors of an original production run of 500, and is a tribute to the very early pre-war Allard cars, specifically FGP 750 and CLK5 fitted with the Bugatti boat tail, flat radiator grill right down to the correct 100-inch wheel base. The car retains ALL of its original parts.
The M-type was a very popular competition car in its own right, originally developed as a comfortable, yet sporting all-rounder it went on to compete successfully throughout Europe most notably with Leonard Potter at the wheel placing 4th in the 1948 Monte Carlo Rally and winning the team prize for Allard
The engine is the original 4 litre Flathead Ford Mercury engine, which was stripped back to its bare block.
New high compression Offenhauser aluminium block script heads fitted as per the original 40s style
