Description
This well restored saloon was first registered in April 1937 in Kent. Originally owned by a dentist, it has a smooth running 6 cylinder engine of 1711cc with Girling Brake system. It cruises comfortably at 55mph and is claimed to reach 70 mph (not tested!). The main restoration work was done in the 1990’s by a previous owner. Paintwork is maroon with black wings, with maroon interior and cream headlining. Spacious, the car has footrests and roller blinds in the rear and is roomy enough for weddings. There is a working steel sunroof and an adjustable steering column. Flashing indicators have been fitted, and the trafficators still work.
Owned by long-time Austin Ten Drivers’ Club member since 2012, improvements include new door handles, new tyres in 2015 and new battery in 2017, also overhauled carburettor. The front brakes were relined last year. Dash and window surrounds have been repainted in wood-grain effect. The original fitted trunk is included.
