Description

PRICE REDUCED FROM 9, 250 TO 7, 950 ONLY BECAUSE WE NEED THE WORKSHOP SPACE FOR A FORTHCOMING MAJOR RESTORATION PROJECT, VERY RARE CAR AT A BARGAIN PRICE.

Only 10, 007 of these cars were built between 1965-1967 and it is believed only between 20-30 survive today in various conditions.

They were designed by Giovvani Michelotti and built by Officine Stampaggi Industriali a sub division of Ghia.

This Torino offered for sale is probably ( if not the best ) most original one owner example to have surfaced and almost impossible to find another as good as this, genuine 39, 000 miles.

Originally built in 1966 and first registered in Italy in May 1968.

The original registered owner kept this car up to six years ago until his health took a turn for the worse and he left the car to an elderly relative who never registered the car in his name, he never used the car but kept it locked up in his garage for the last six years, due to his recent failing health he decided to sell the car. The original owner also kept the car garaged when not in use.

We purchased the car from North Italy and had it transported over.

The car needed re commissioning after standing for so long and we have carried out all work required to a high standard but trying to keep the car as original as possible.

New parts fitted

Rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes, 75% of copper brake pipes and rear flexi hoses / Full exhaust system / Anti roll bar bushes / Steering drag link / Re conditioned rear suspension dampers / Engine mounts / Crankshaft front oil seal / Battery & earth strap / Original Solex carburettor fully rebuilt / Original dynamo re furbished / Fan belt / Wiper blades / Windscreen rubber / Indicator flasher unit / One interior light switch / Spark plugs / Wheels shot blasted & powder coated / 5 new tyres / Rear pillar badges & one Ford front wing badge / Hub caps / Old engine oil drained & flushed - new oil & filter.
Car passed the MOT with no advisories, we also have a few other new parts we purchased but are not required at the moment but will come with car.

CONDITION

Body & paintwork: All original panels in excellent condition, no rust worth mentioning, original paintwork in superb condition, yes there is the odd mark and small touch ups but for a car this age as expected, nothing nasty and polishes up lovely as you can see in the photo's, overall an excellent true survivor.

Underneath: Well when we put the car on the ramp and raised it up and looked underneath my partner and I were just amazed at the condition, no rust anywhere, the chassis rails, sills, floor pans and spare wheel well are in perfect original condition, not one sign of any old welding and none required, I should think unheard of for an Anglia or most classic cars of this age, even the MOT inspector was amazed and even called two of his colleagues over to have a look.

Mechanics: Superb original 997cc high compression engine, runs & drives great with no issues, gearbox & clutch perfect no issues.

Interior: All original and in very good order, original rubber floormats in excellent condition, door cards very good, Passenger seat very good, drivers seat very good with small 2" split on side easy repair, rear seat very good but has 4" split to top panel of seat back rest of seat perfect, good headlining that will come up better with light clean ( we will probably find the time to do this ), dash in very good condition ( everything works ). The boot has all original rubber mats in very good condition.

This car is a real pleasure to drive, very responsive steering no wandering, nippy engine & good gearchange, keeps up with modern traffic no problem, good brakes.

Everything else is in full working condition.

One thing of interest: This car retains it's original rear lights by Altissimo, prior to being fitted on the Torino these particular lights were only fitted to 2 Ferrari's and the Bizzarrini Strada GT making them extremely sought after by owners of these cars and restorers, yes you can buy repro's but they do not have Altissimo on them, although originals rarely come up for sale I have seen just a pair of lenses without the backplates and chrome trim ring up for sale for around £1000, the rear lights on this car are perfect with no chips or cracks.

So there you have it, a true, rare, one registered owner, low mileage survivor, I would think almost impossible to find another like this.

Yesterday, 6/ 5/ 18 we took the car for it's first trip out to Auto Italia at Brooklands Museum ( last photo ), we knew how rare the car is but could not believe how well it was received, the head organiser thanked us for bringing it along and gave it one of the prime exhibition spots flanked by 2 Dino's, result, the car had massive attention all day and I would like a pound for every photo that was taken, you can be pretty sure that whatever show this goes to it will be the only one there and must be a strong candidate for a prize, best original survivor or something like that.

Asking £10, 500 or near offer, no silly offers please.
