The Appeal
The new 'Austin' Seven was not expected to be as colossal a zeitgeist smasher as it was. Reigniting an old nameplate from the company's early days - the compact and affordable seven - it was obvious that this new 'Mini' was intended as an entry level car - but it quickly became a pop culture icon. Launched in 1959, the Seven Mini revolutionised small car design with its transverse engine layout and space-efficient cabin, and soon became to be known as simply the Mini. Early examples can be differentiated by the 'Seven' identity and basket-weave grille, and are naturally in high demand.

This car was subject to a comprehensive ground-up restoration, completed around 2017. The work included a full glass-out and engine-out refurbishment with a complete body respray in its original Tartan Red. The engine has been fully rebuilt, and the car comes with an impressive documentation package including a British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate confirming its original specification as a right-hand drive home market de-luxe model.
