The Appeal
As at home on the road as it is on the racetrack, the MG Midget 1500 is the perfect classic car. Simple, yet charming, and surprisingly practical for its size, with precise handling giving it an almost go-kart feel.
Relatively inexpensive to maintain, mechanically straightforward, and with a strong parts backup available from dedicated clubs and suppliers, it is the ideal first classic car.
The current owner of this 1979 example, in striking vermillion, describes it as "a delight to drive", going on to say "the cabin is just a lovely place to be on a warm sunny day". "The vendor has also advised that 'the vehicle benefits from a replacement gearbox after an issue developed with 1st gear in the original box. The gearbox works perfectly but does not have any history'.
You are unlikely to find another example in such good overall condition, structurally or mechanically, that has not been entirely rebuilt.
