The BMW 6 Series has always been an intriguing and appealing member of the German giant's line-up. A fully fledged GT car through and through the very first E24 6 Series made quite the impression when it debuted back in 1976. Here was a handsomely-styled two-door coupé with a range of smooth yet powerful six-cylinder engines that captivated the car buying public and spawned the legendary M635CSi.

Surviving until 1989, BMW would rather strangely not produce a successor until 14 years later with the advent of the E63 in 2003. It was worth the wait though because what we got was a sleek, powerful two-door GT that propagated and further developed the blueprint laid down by its predecessor to excellent effect.

Available with either a six, eight or ten-cylinder engine the car proved that there was very much still a market for such a beast and it sold well. Powerful and refined, as well as comfortable and fully loaded, an E63 6 Series today makes for an alluring modern classic.

This particular example is a 2007 630i, which means a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder under the bonnet producing a rather tasty 272bhp. Reportedly running perfectly and in beautiful condition both inside and out, this sixer is ready to rock and roll and looks great in black.
