We are offering for sale this desirable Jaguar XK120 OTS, which has fuelled the passion of a father and his son for more than 35 years before being offered for sale to you.
In 1990 a fervent automotive enthusiast, a professional panel-beater-painter, acquired this mythical convertible in the United States. We find in his exceptional dossier the invoice for this purchase, correspondence with Jaguar for the issue of the conformity certificate, photos of the car in the United States, a copy of its Californian registration certificate and various other documents.
On arrival, the car required restoration. Its new owner launched the project, which was completed on 30 October 1992, documented by numerous invoices and photos. He chose at that time to paint it in the colour “Primrose Yellow,” a Jaguar shade.
Annotations have been carefully kept in an old notebook. It testifies to meticulous maintenance with an oil change and replacement of the oil filter every 2 years since 1990!
The son of the same owner inherits the car in July 2017. In April 2018, with 45, 160 kilometres showing on the odometer, he entrusted it to a restoration workshop specialising in a full refurbishment, with a colour change back to the original, “Light Grey.” More than €82, 000 of invoices and photos of this second restoration also complete the file. On this occasion, during the engine overhaul, the cylinder head was adapted for unleaded use. The work finished in June 2020.
Its Heritage Certificate confirms that the car is still equipped with its original engine. Moreover, this freshly restored engine is still within standard tolerances, shells and pistons!
This car is remarkable, of high quality, with several enhancements for a better driving experience, comfort and performance. It runs perfectly, its engine starts at the first turn of the key, hot or cold, with no parasitic noises. Its Moss 4-speed gearbox does not miss a beat, and all of its running gear consumables are new. All its instruments are functional.
