Description
Perfection at the highest level. That is rightly what can be said about this unique 1949 Morgan F Super 3-Wheeler. This Morgan, fully restored, is truly in immaculate, sublime condition. Only 265 examples were produced, so today it is an extremely rare and unique car, especially in this ultimate, as-new condition. The car comes from a private collection and has been fully restored in recent years and optimised in various respects. What is particularly special is that a large part of its history is fully documented. Several editorial articles about this car have been published in various magazines. Various files filled with history, invoices and reports are available. There is also a lovely photo album documenting the restoration of this beautiful Morgan F Super.
The photos clearly demonstrate the exceptionally high standard of the restoration of this special Morgan 3-Wheeler. Everything has been carried out with meticulous care and all the documentation is present. Not only a glimpse of the owner, but also a large part of the maintenance history. The Morgan arrived in the Netherlands in 1978, still in its original green colour. A few years later, the car was restored and the colour changed to red. Photos of this restoration are also available. After the car had several owners, the last owner bought it in 2015 and decided to restore it to a completely pristine, as-new condition. The result is a fully restored car where no expense was spared to reach the level of perfection.
Everything is completely new in this unique Morgan F Super. This lovely red/ black colour scheme complements the black leather upholstery (with red piping), the handsome wooden dashboard and the lacquered wire wheels. All the chrome work is completely new and the car has been finished with meticulous attention to detail. The protective cover around the exhaust and the bespoke chromed luggage rack are wonderful examples of this.
Technically, the car is absolutely perfect. Various upgrades have been made, including fully hydraulic brakes and a flexible driveshaft instead of a rigid prop shaft. This latter is particularly important for preserving the fully rebuilt gearbox. The engine block has been fully overhauled and finely tuned in England. This has made for a wonderfully smooth-to-drive car that responds particularly well and directly to steering inputs. For practical use, a storage compartment has been created behind the seat backs.
It is actually very difficult to describe this car properly, as there aren’t enough words to convey such perfection. You really have to see the car to understand what has happened here. The good news is that the car is accompanied by a lovely restoration photo album and that much has been written about this car. If you are looking for a special, precious classic Morgan, then this is the car for you!
