Description
Morgan Three-Wheeler F4 from 1936, Ford 1172cc engine.
The Morgan Three-Wheelers were born in 1909 from H. F. S. Morgan's idea: to create a light, simple and economical vehicle, yet surprisingly capable.
The formula is elemental: minimal weight, skeletonised construction and direct mechanics. The early versions adopted front V-twin engines, but over time the project evolved while always keeping the same philosophy: maximum efficiency with the minimum indispensable.
Less than 400 kg, these cars offered brilliant performance even with modest power outputs. The success was immediate: fast, reliable and prominent in competitions, they quickly earned a solid reputation.
The Morgan Three-Wheeler series of the “F” lineage, introduced in the 1930s, represents one of the brand’s most important milestones: the introduction of Ford four-cylinder automotive engines marks a true technical evolution, bringing greater regularity, reliability and versatility.
While remaining faithful to the three-wheel architecture and the lightness typical of Morgan, the “F” series significantly broadened usage possibilities, making these cars more mature and usable without losing their distinctive character.
The 1936 Morgan Three-Wheeler F4 we have for sale perfectly embodies this evolution, with the Ford 1172cc engine that delivers a smoother drive without losing Morgan’s direct character.
With English registration, it also comes from an important collection dedicated to the marque.
