Introduced in 1982, the second generation of the BMW 3 Series was set to hit even harder than its predecessor, the BMW E21 (1975–1982).
To do this, BMW offered several body styles (saloon, estate (Touring), coupé and cabriolet) and also a range of engine options, combining 4- and 6-cylinder units in the line-up.
The success of this model was tremendous, and in the race for the honours list, the first BMW M3 was unveiled on an E30! The beginning of a legend...
The early 1990s marked the end of production for this now-collector model, very much in the spirit of Youngtimers!
The BMW E30 was gradually replaced (depending on the body styles) by the E36 generation.
Worth noting: the E30 was BMW’s first model offered with four-wheel drive (hence the X in iX).

Supplied new in February 1987, according to our information it was already in Belgium by February 1988.
We also have an excellent service history via the car pass, charting its mileage since 2000 (under 182, 000 km), and you can see that the mileage has been consistent and progressive—which is exactly what you want.
The bodywork presents extremely well—nothing to say: no dents, no scratches, and absolutely no corrosion. It’s truly remarkably solid and immaculate!
The bumpers’ chrome, the window trims—everything is in superb condition. And the windows are, in fact, original!
The interior also presents beautifully, whether it’s the seats, dashboard, headliner, steering wheel, door trims, etc.
The preservation of the upholstery is incredible for a car of this age.
The sunroof—opening/ closing operation—is also spot on.
Mechanically, there’s nothing to plan for as it comes straight out of a major service (oil change, filters, spark plugs, etc.). It drives very well without any issues: no overheating, it tracks straight, the brakes are OK—it’s ready to hit the road with no worries. It covered over 100 km to get to our premises; nothing to fault, and... what a sound/ melody!
We also have good traceability of BMW invoices since 2008; notably, that’s the year the engine was changed, with supporting BMW invoice paperwork confirming it was done within the network.
The latest technical inspection report is from February 2023—at 208, 345 km—and it mentions no technical remarks on the vehicle.
