Exterior/ Zhassis: The car shown here is a January 1959 XK150 S Coupé in its original ‘Silver Metallic’ colour. The bodywork was restored a few years ago and remains in excellent showroom condition today. The paint has a uniform finish with excellent gloss. After a professional polish using an orbital polisher by our workshop, we noted a small paint defect beneath the grille contour and a tiny chip on the leading edge of the driver's door. The bumpers and chrome endpieces are perfectly positioned and in excellent condition. The grille, headlights and lenses are also in good condition, as are the chromed front wing mirrors. This example is fitted with LUCAS fog lights, both fully functional. The 4 chrome-wire wheels and their chrome knock-offs by JAGUAR are in excellent condition. The 4 VREDESTEIN tyres show wear of less than 10% at both ends. This example retains its chrome-spoked spare wheel and jack. Among the exterior equipment and options of this exemplar, we note the interior storage cover and the LUCAS fog lights.
Interior: The leather upholstery in ‘Red Cartier’ with matching piping is in excellent condition. A few minor scuffs were noted on the left rear pillar. The leather dashboard in ‘Red Cartier’ and ‘Grey’ is in perfect condition. The cap and corresponding doors are defect-free. The headlining in grey velour is in good condition. The entire SMITHS instrument cluster is fully functional. The original horn/ steering wheel does not function. The three-spoke wooden JAGUAR steering wheel and the original bakelite gear knob show a uniform patina. The entire set of carpets in ‘Red Cartier’ to match the upholstery is in excellent condition. Notable interior equipment includes the leather upholstery with central armrest in ‘Red Cartier’ and the three-spoke wooden JAGUAR steering wheel.
Chassis: Lifting the car onto the ramp confirms a sound body and chassis with no visible accident damage or structural corrosion. Fundamentals: ladder frame chassis, floors, longitudinals, sills and wheel arches are all in perfect order. Usage reserve: as a rule we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond what is visually and functionally confirmed during on-road testing and wheel-lift inspection. During the dynamic test, no abnormal parasitic noises were detected from the body or suspension (ball joints, bushings...). Braking is balanced, stable and progressive, with no vibrations or unusual noises. Discs and pads show wear of less than 20% at the front and rear.
