In the 1990s this car was aimed at a handful of brand enthusiasts who wanted to drive an exclusive and reliable car with exceptional sporty qualities: all-wheel drive, 2. 0-litre turbo 4-cylinder engine of 208 hp, a sporty look, exemplary road holding; that was enough to convince Toyota's loyal customers.
This one-owner car was delivered on 23 October 1992 in France at the WEHINGER dealership in Haguenau and has been used by its sole owner to date; the full maintenance file shows rigorous servicing and confirms the low mileage of a beautiful coupé.
This car proudly bears the name Carlos Sainz, who is among the greatest rally drivers in automotive history; after the glory days of the 205 T16, at a time when Lancia dominated the World Rally Championship with its Delta Evolution, Toyota would prevail with the Celica and Carlos Sainz would become World Rally Champion in 1990 on Toyota; Carlos Sainz had the honour of giving his name to the Celica Turbo 4WD (ST 185); the car rewarded him two years later in 1992 with another title on the ST 185! The 90s, 92, 93 and 94 saw Toyota reach the summit; the answer would only come in 1995 from SUBARU with its Impreza, such an icon of 90s sports cars!
