HISTORY / DOCUMENTATION
Vetroresina means fiberglass in Italian. This is the first series of the Ferrari 308, produced in just 712 units. Thanks to its fiberglass body, it is 150 kg lighter than the standard 308. A genuine rarity, making it highly sought after.
This Ferrari is accompanied by a Ferrari Classiche certificate, an official appraisal confirming its authenticity. These certificates are issued only by the Ferrari Classiche department in Maranello. This document, issued in 2025, is in itself a work of art and confirms that the car has been completely restored to its original condition.
Built in 1977, this Ferrari originated in France. In 1996, it showed 71, 865 km before joining the collection of a Spanish enthusiast. Kept in a dry, heated garage, it has often been displayed at motoring shows and events. Since 2018, it has been registered in the Netherlands.
The vehicle comes with the Ferrari Classiche dossier, a technical manual in French, several expert reports and numerous maintenance invoices.
EXTERIOR
This rare example presents the original colour combination: Argento Auteuil (silver) with black leather interior – a particularly elegant and uncommon pairing. The original California-type side mirror is visible.
The visual condition is excellent: the paint is fresh, the rubber seals are in good condition, and the five-spoke alloy wheels are immaculate. The underbody is in perfect condition with no signs of corrosion. The design by Pininfarina, with its fluid lines and famous retractable headlights, is enhanced by this refined shade.
INTERIOR
The cabin is also in remarkable condition, with no cracks or deterioration. The carpets, headlining and leathers are in very good condition. The interior offers an authentic atmosphere, with superb gauges and essential equipment: Blaupunkt radio, air conditioning and power windows. Even the front luggage compartment is clean and well preserved.
The overall interior condition suggests a relatively low mileage.
TECHNIQUE
The engine bay is dry and houses the original V8, as does the gearbox – elements confirmed by the Ferrari Classiche report.
In 2015, a full service was carried out in Barcelona for around €14, 000. In January 2025, a major revision including the timing belt was performed at the Ferrari Kroymans dealer (value: €3, 400).
The technical inspection is valid until 23 May 2026. The road handling shows meticulous mechanical maintenance: the engine runs perfectly and the gearbox operates smoothly.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Ferrari 308 is one of the marque’s most iconic models. In 2004, it still ranked 5th in the best 1970s sports cars.
This is the first series of the 308 GTB, produced from 1975 to mid-1977. Thanks to its fiberglass body, the 308 GTB Vetroresina weighs only 1, 050 kg, about 150 kg less than later steel versions. With only 712 units produced, of which around 400 were left-hand drive, this version is the most sought-after of all the 308 GTB models.
The mid-mounted V8 – now inseparable from Ferrari – was still a novelty at the time. This 2. 9-litre engine, already present on the 308 GT4, develops 255 hp in both models.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE VETRORESINA AND THE CLASSIC 308
• Reversing lights integrated into the bumper (not in the indicators)
• A-pillar with a black stripe connecting the panels
• Flat rear panel without a recess for the licence plate
• Equipped with a single exhaust outlet
