Description
irst launched at the London Motor Show in October 1965, the Aston Martin DB6 was the natural continuation from the DB5. This new distinctive model offered a higher roof line and longer wheel base to achieve greater head and leg room. Other prominent features included the distinctive kamm tail, split front and rear bumpers, re-designed oil cooler opening and quarter lights.
Originally supplied on the 13th June 1967, this pristine example was finished in Pacific Blue with Black trim. Specified with the highly sought after Vantage specification, combined with manual transmission, chrome wire wheels, heated rear screen, 3 eared hub caps and a power operated aerial.
Purchased by Mr B Armand of the Royal Cresent Hotel in Brighton with the registration number ‘LPM 90E’ which is still retained on the car today. It remained in his ownership until 1973 when it was purchased by Mr W Green of Winchester and it then passed to a Mr Sedley before in 1977 being sold to Mr Savage who exported the car to America. Whilst overseas, it appears to have done very little mileage (in the region of 3000 miles) which is fully documented in the owners handwritten log contained in the history file. Finally, the car was advertised by a New York classic car dealer in 2015 and this is where the current owner purchased the vehicle. At this point the car had been in dry storage for many years but was complete and still in its original build colours. Following repatriation to the UK, a fully body off restoration commenced with the cars matching numbers engine being fully rebuild by Aston Engineering to 4. 2Ltr specification and the addition of electronic power steering.
Now finished in the attractive factory colour option of Azzuro Blue with Connolly Vaumol deep red leather and matching Wilton carpet. Having covered just 1500 miles since full restoration, the car is presented today with an in-depth history file, original hydraulic jack and owners handbook.
