Description
This lovely Aston Martin comes from long term ownership – purchased by the current owner in 1973 for the next 30 years, it was his main every day car until his retirement from business.
Inevitably that has meant that over the years the owner has tackled the full range of care and maintenance demanded by a much-loved classic Aston Martin. In December 1998 the engine was fully stripped and rebuilt by one of the premier recognised Aston Martin Specialists, Aston Engineering Derby Limited. Their invoice in the document folder details the extensive rebuild including removal of the cylinder liners to allow a thorough inspection of the engine block, new 4. 2 Cosworth pistons, inlet and exhaust values to lead-free petrol specification.
Then in 2006 the chassis was extensively rebuilt because of deterioration on the underside of the car at a cost of approximately £10, 000. The owner judged his DB6 to be less smart than it should and a respray was commissioned.
In the last twenty years, the car has been used only lightly but regularly checked and, even when it ceased to be a requirement, regular MOT’s have kept an accurate record of mileage and a focus on roadworthiness
The Aston Martin DB6 remains the ultimate iteration of the original Touring Superleggera design and continues to appeal to classic car collectors and buyers. The opportunity to acquire a car from long term and cherished ownership is not one to be missed.
Serviced and maintained throughout the current owner’s more than 50 years of ownership means this is a car that will offer reward in ownership enjoyment and classic investment.
