We are pleased to offer for sale a carburetted Ferrari 512 BB, a rare and highly desirable example from the end of production of this iconic model, before the switch to injection with the 512 BBi.
This Ferrari embodies the ultimate expression of the BB lineage in its purest form: a flat‑12 fed by four Weber triple‑carburettor units, a mythical soundtrack, intact mechanical character and authentic driving sensations.
Model history
Launched in 1976, the 512 BB succeeded the 365 GT4 BB to meet the new pollution standards, particularly in the United States, without compromising performance.
Displacement then increased from 4. 4 to 5 litres, giving rise to the 512 name (5 litres – 12 cylinders), in reference to the legendary Ferrari 512 S race car.
Power is rated at 360 bhp at 6, 200 rpm, with a more generous and more usable torque than that of the 365 GT4 BB, making the car smoother and more enjoyable to drive while retaining a distinctly sporting temperament.
Production of the carburetted 512 BB ended in 1981, after 929 examples, before being replaced by the injection‑equipped 512 BBi.
The last carburetted examples are today the most sought-after by collectors.
