1971 - Hirth Hi-27 Akrostar 200 HP French registration certificate, collector's aircraft Note: The Hirth Hi 27 Akrostar is a competition airplane designed by Swiss aerobatic champion Arnold Wagner and built in West Germany by Wolf Hirth GmbH in the early 1970s. It dominated the championships for a short time. The Akrostar is a low-wing, single-engine aircraft of classic design. It is powered by a 220 hp Franklin 6A-350-C16 flat-cylinder engine. Although limited to a dozen units, it was a favorite of aerobatic pilots in the 1970s and 1980s. In the hands of a very experienced pilot, the Akrostar remains an aircraft that is certainly outdated on the international scene, but still very spectacular at air shows. The model presented here hasn't flown for a few years, and will need to be overhauled before it regains its former performance. With its razor-sharp looks, it will also be perfectly at home in a museum, or hanging in a hangar among automobiles...
