Description

If there’s one roadster that’s quintessentially English to mention, there’s a good chance the MG (for Morris Garages) B will be among them. Produced in more than 500, 000 (!) examples between 1962 and 1980, this model obviously has a total of 4 versions—quite logical given its 18 years in production…

You can roughly split them into around 350, 000 cabriolet versions (and 150, 000 coupés—known as the GT). As an aside, before it was eclipsed by the Mazda MX5, the MG B cabriolet was the world’s best-selling cabriolet!

NYC’s/ OXOTO is offering here a superb specimen of the MG B in green (British Racing Green) with a black full-leather interior, showing under 137, 000 miles on the clock. We have excellent traceability of this MG’s life. Indeed, as attested by the certificate of authenticity, it was supplied new to Canterbury, in England, in April 1979. When it left the factory, it was therefore right-hand drive and finished in blue with grey leather inside. Later on, it became Dutch before turning Belgian in 2010. Its current Belgian owner has had it since September 2014, at which point it showed under 131, 000 miles. Having decided to sell it due to a lack of time to enjoy it, after 11 years of ownership, he hasn’t neglected it either—just look at the many service invoices.

The bodywork looks very good, but it isn’t perfect. You’ll note a paint defect on the lower front sill area, passenger side. Otherwise, it presents well—we didn’t see any dents or scratches. See photos on the ramps: no corrosion in the sensitive areas, nor in the boot area (see photos taken with the boot open).

The interior is genuinely very smart. Other than a tiny split at the rear of the passenger headrest, there’s nothing to complain about—everything else is immaculate: seats, dashboard, centre console, door cards, etc… and just how magnificent is this Moto-Lita wood steering wheel! The hood is also in superb condition, with no faults to report.

The chrome is in good shape too, whether it’s the front bumper, the surround to the windscreen, the trim strips… but the rear bumper is the one that shows marks left by time.

As for the mechanical side, its current owner has really looked after it. We have a good history supported by service invoices for the last 10 years—see the photos of the invoices on our site, which total more than €4, 500 in various costs.

Photos taken with a lift are also available on our site. It drives perfectly well—everything is in order.

The most recent MOT/ technical inspection report dates from October 2025 and is valid. It does note a few minor remarks, which is fairly logical for a car over 40 years old (headlamp, visibility…)

We have a ramp/ lift available on our premises so you can view the underside of the vehicle.

If there’s genuine interest, NYC’s is at your disposal for any questions and for a possible visit.
