Description
Magnificent Porsche 911 2. 4T Targa in concours condition, following a full restoration carried out in 2018. This example was delivered new in Texas (a neighbouring state with a climate similar to California’s dry climate) in October 1971, with its first registration in January 1972. The car remained in Texas until its export to France in 2015.
The early 1970s mark a pinnacle for the 911, with a further increase in displacement from 2. 2 to 2. 4 litres, giving the 911T a power of 130 bhp. Only the versions destined for the United States, like this one, benefited from mechanical fuel injection, pushing power to 140 bhp.
It is also around this period that the legendary "Ölklappe" appeared, an oil flap located on the right rear wing, introduced after moving the oil tank in front of the rear axle. This configuration, directly inspired by the mythical 911R, was abandoned from the 1973 model year due to frequent confusion with the fuel filler.
Its highly desirable Gulf Blue 328 (Porsche period-option colour) was ideally chosen during the restoration and elegantly highlights the contrasts with the black front/ rear grilles and the matching Fuchs wheels (period option). The engine type 911/ 51 is original, as is the 5-speed manual gearbox type 915/ 02, also offered as an option. Among the other options are tinted windows, headrests, a leather steering wheel and an original Blaupunkt radio, still available and carefully replaced with a Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) system offering modern features (GPS, Bluetooth, audio streaming).
