Description

This superb driving, incredibly well-presented Porsche 911E comes with a magnificent history dating back to new. Accompanying the cars original handbook pack and service book is original documentation from 1973 confirming all original order and specification details. The 911 was imported new into the US by VW S/ C Distributor Inc in San Antonio, Texas. The car was then supplied new by Houston, Texas dealership Norman Scott Porsche Audi finished in Gemini Blue metallic with five speed transmission, mechanical fuel injection, tinted glass, fresh air heating and ventilation, leatherette covered steering wheel, electric heated rear window, four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, three speed wipers high-capacity ignition, undercoating and front spoiler. A handwritten special order note also confirms air-conditioning, left side mirror and Silver antenna.

The original service book records various stamps to include the warranty voucher on the 23rd May 1973, air-conditioning installation on the same day with 44 miles recorded, the delivery inspection then supplying dealer services at 1000, 10244 and 19086 miles. The Porsche left Texas for California during the 1980's and service and maintenance receipts track impressive upkeep through to 87500 miles in 1995. In 2017 with 98000 miles the 911 made its way to Europe. It was purchased by a U. K. resident from Porsche specialists in Belgium, Dekens Sportswagons who carried out a mechanical overhaul costing over €15000. The program of work included rebuilding the front and rear suspension, rebuilding the braking system (front and rear disc and pads, custom made steel brake lines, master cylinder rebuilt calipers), rebuilt injection pump, new driveshafts, stainless steel heat exchanger and rear exhaust, fuel tank, new gear linkage bushing, clutch kit and engine work to include new camshaft oil seal, front main crankshaft seal, rear crankshaft seal, oil tank gasket and upper and lower valve gasket seals.

On completion of works in Belgium, the 911 was imported in the U. K. It was collected on behalf of the owner by a Kent based Classic Porsche specialist who continued the restoration work on what was a very original car. The car was re-painted in its original colour, wheels refurbished and fitted with new tyres and various new parts included headlights, rear light lenses, hood lock catch, front hood struts and new rubbers included front screen seals, door seals, quarter glass seals, window scraper seals, rear engine seal, front bumper to body seal, targa top seals and various new chrome trims. The seats were also refurbished taking expenditure well over the £20, 000 mark. Expenditure continued with almost £5000 in 2018 with Carrera Performance, then in 2019 the car was serviced by Strasse in Leeds at a cost of £1600.

In 2024 the 911 came into the hands of its most recent owner who has spent a further £14000 on further enhancing this superb driving, incredibly usable car. The 911 now boasts RS specification brakes and suspension and invoices confirm new front Bilstein shocks, new roll bar, drop links, bushes, suspension stabiliser, brand new front calipers and Ferodo pads, all new discs and various service items and maintenance. The result of this work is a truly outstanding driver's car, a car ideal for long distance overseas touring in its original, and more natural LHD format. With a fit strong engine, smooth five speed gearbox and its recent suspension and brake upgrade work, this is a fabulous driver's car that still appears as a very correct, honest car with a fabulous bodyshell, lovely now older paintwork and smart, well-presented interior and Targa top. This is a beautiful car, it has covered around 11000 miles since being in the U. K. and it has lovely provenance of correct colours, and superb history to include the very early paperwork.
