Rare last-year 911 S Targa
A rare last-year 911 S Targa, presented in its spectacular original colour combination: Viper Green over black leatherette. This Porsche preserves its matching numbers for the engine, gearbox and original paint, as confirmed by the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Delivered new in Italy and carefully kept by the same owner for 40 years, this car combines provenance, authenticity and restoration quality in an exceptional package.
This 2. 4S was delivered new in Italy in this striking rare colour combination. Notable fact: it remained there until recently, passionately cared for by its owner since January 1985.
Although the current owner bought the car 40 years ago, this Targa still presents today in remarkable overall condition. This superb 1973 911S has undergone a complete disassembly and full restoration, returning the body to its original state. Starting from a solid authentic base, the shell was stripped, adjusted and repainted in its original shade. The body gaps are excellent, with no excessive filler, and the original floors are intact.
According to the former owner and our own inspection, there are no signs of rust repairs or prior accidents. Although the restoration is several years old, the paint remains superb. The factory black anodised engine grille and the original badges are still present and show an elegant patina. The restoration has preserved key elements: chrome, windows, badges — all signs of authenticity.
Inside, the cockpit is clean and largely original. It has been carefully maintained and partly renewed, while retaining as many factory components as possible. The original radio is still present. The Porsche Certificate confirms that this EU-spec model left the factory with a black leatherette interior.
During the 2014 body restoration, the 2. 4L engine and original gearbox were completely overhauled, with pistons and cylinders replaced, hydraulic cam-chain tensioners added, and a full service of the MFI fuel injection system, recalibrated again in 2022. Result: a sharp throttle response, stable idle and precise gear shifts — exactly what one expects from a real 911S.
The engine starts at the first turn and runs perfectly smoothly. It revs freely and the gearbox operates with precision.
The car is accompanied by its original tool kit, jack, spare wheel and tyre, as well as a complete file including numerous invoices, the Italian Porsche Certificate, the Italian logbook, and many photos documenting the restoration.
Recently registered in Belgium, this 911 had never left Italy until 2025. It spent decades in the beautiful regions around La Spezia and Bari, and was even showcased by the Porsche Centre Bari at an official event — a testament to its quality and exceptional presentation.
